Le développement important de la petite presse à la fin de la monarchie de Juillet et sous le Second Empire s’offre comme un corpus riche de représentations autoscopiques du journalisme. Empruntant aux genres physiologique, biographique, didactique, cette textualité fonctionne à la fois comme connivence avec le lectorat, construction de sa légitimation dans le champ littéraire et mémoire. Est ici proposée une excursion bibliographique parmi ces interventions. Tour à tour satiriques, parodiques ou apologétiques, ces textes travaillés par une forte ironisation sont le symptôme d’une fascination du social pour la presse en même temps qu’ils soulignent les procédures d’appropriation et de détournement de formes littéraires.
