Abstract
Le nombre et la gravité des accidents se produisant sur les domaines skiables français sont conséquents. Par certains aspects, l’information préventive mise en œuvre en station semble manquer d’efficacité. Ce constat prend tout son sens lorsqu’on analyse le phénomène à trois échelles : les pratiquants, le dispositif de sécurité et les sites élargis que représentent les stations. L’étude de ces différents niveaux et de leurs interactions fournit des éléments explicatifs : d’une part, la prévention prend peu en compte le rapport ambigu entretenu par les pratiquants avec la dialectique risque-sécurité ; d’autre part, les processus décisionnels relatifs à la sécurité sont empreints d’intérêts particularistes et locaux qui se substituent parfois à l’objectif de sensibilisation.
