Traiter des tensions européennes et asiatiques en mettant l'accent sur ce qui se passe en Bosnie-Herzégovine et au Pakistan peut paraître curieux.Qu'y a-t-il de commun entre ces deux pays, entre les régions où ils se trouvent, les Balkans occidentaux d'un côté, l'Asie du Sud de l'autre ?La réponse est simple.Ces régions sont toutes les deux d'une grande complexité due à la juxtaposition de cultures et, de ce fait, présentent des problèmes identiques bien qu'à des échelles différentes.Elles symbolisent les tensions européennes et asiatiques.Les Balkans, dont le nom vient d'une montagne bulgare, s'étirent de la mer Adriatique à la mer Noire, de la plaine de Pannonie à la mer Méditerranée.Les Balkans occidentaux comprennent les territoires de l'ancienne Yougoslavie auxquels il faut ajouter l'Albanie.
