Abstract
Résumé Malgré un intérêt croissant pour le concept de force dans la recherche et l’intervention auprès des familles en difficulté, certains problèmes persistent dans les définitions et les instruments élaborés à ce jour afin d’en permettre l’évolution. Dans le but de clarifier le concept de force et d’en raffiner la mesure, le présent article permet d’identifier les principales définitions et instruments retenus dans les recherches sur la question. Il propose ensuite une discussion autour de la méthodologie privilégiée afin d’étudier la connaissance et l’utilisation des forces dans une étude menée sur les pratiques auprès des familles en difficulté.
