Au cours des derniers mois, le gouvernement fédéral a sabré dans les effectifs de nombreux ministères, surtout en ce qui a trait à la recherche. À Parcs Canada, le nombre de chercheurs a été réduit de beaucoup. Or il s’avère que les archéologues, les conservateurs et les historiens au service du gouvernement fédéral croulaient déjà sous une montagne de travail. Il faut se demander comment ceux qui ont survécu à ces coupures pourront poursuivre leurs recherches et répondre aux demandes à jamais croissantes du public pour des informations sur les sites patrimoniaux au pays.
