Abstract
On note dans les études berbères, en tant qu’ area studies, la prédominance des sciences linguistiques et ethnologiques. Ce constat a une histoire : le besoin premier de construire un savoir sur un Autre ethnolinguistique. Ce besoin est aujourd’hui justifié en partie par la nécessité d’un discours écolinguistique motivant les travaux actuels dont la finalité est d’assurer une survie de la langue dans l’équilibre de relations compliquées de coprésence. Or, dans cette totalité, on peut distinguer des travaux se réclamant de la sémiotique, souvent des approches influencées par une sémiotique littéraire à la française (structures narratives, rarement la visualité). En tant que priorité analytique absente dans les études berbères, la dynamique du sens textuel et extratextuel (pratiques symboliques, sociales), se déployant dans un contexte de sociétés nord-africaines mouvantes, pourrait apporter un renouvellement. L’objectif de cet article est d’exposer l’horizon théorique et épistémologique d’exemples de construction de savoirs par la sémiotique dans un espace langagier à dominance orale.
