Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Abstract A long‐standing mainstay of the US power sector, coal fuels 45 percent of domestic power production. 1 Termed the “Saudi Arabia” of coal since the 1970s, the United States boasts more than one‐quarter of the world's coal reserves, ranked number one in the world and well ahead of Russia and China. 2 Yet at the beginning of 2012, President Obama anointed the United States as the “Saudi Arabia of natural gas.” 3 The president's new title must reflect the speed of the nation's apparent transition toward natural gas rather than the relative level of reserves, for the United States is ranked fifth among all countries with only 3 percent of the world's total natural gas reserves. 4

Fetched live from OpenAlex and de-inverted. Abstracts are not stored in this database: the inverted indexes are 8.6 GB of the frame’s 9.3 GB of text, and the host has 13 GB free.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
