Abstract
Prenant comme élément d’étude le débat sur le mariage homosexuel lors de l’élection canadienne de juin 2004, cette note de recherche répond à deux grandes questions : le mariage homosexuel a-t-il influencé le vote des Canadiens ? Quel en a été l’effet sur les partis ? Utilisant les données de l’Étude électorale canadienne 2004, les analyses effectuées permettent de conclure que si le mariage homosexuel a bel et bien eu une influence sur le vote des électeurs canadiens, il n’a pas eu l’impact qu’on aurait pu attendre d’un tel enjeu sur le résultat du scrutin, l’effet net sur les partis étant pratiquement nul.
