Abstract
D'absente ou muette qu'elle était dans la plupart des romans de femmes du passé, la mère devient une présence importante dans certains textes récents et parle enfin en son nom propre. Le présent article analyse trois romans - La cohorte fictive, de Monique La Rue (1979), La maison Trestler. de Madeleine Ouellette-Michalska (1984) et Le bruit des choses vivantes (1991), d'Élise Turcotte- qui présentent des modèles novateurs de la créativité au féminin en plus d'une éthique et d'une esthétique fondées sur l'expérience de la maternité.
