Abstract
Une analyse comparative de l'établissement de 15 filles et de 15 garçons sur la ferme familiale permet de cerner les facteurs favorables à la relève agricole au Québec. Elle révèle d'abord que, contrairement aux croyances populaires, ce n'est pas l'absence de garçons qui explique l'arrivée des filles à la succession de leurs parents. En fait les filles partagent avec les garçons un même amour du mode de vie agricole et elles bénéficient tout autant du soutien de leurs parents. Certaines différences sont tout de même perceptibles entre le cheminement des filles et celui des garçons.
