Abstract

Une étude de terrain est présentée, s’inscrivant dans une controverse à propos de l’impact sur les récepteurs de divers types de programmes politiques dans les médias (la presse écrite et la télévision). On propose ici de privilégier les choix réels et complexes des individus dans cette offre politique. Une typologie statistique des pratiques médiatiques est proposée, puis mise en relation avec les comportements, attitudes et représentations politiques. On montre que les sujets dont les pratiques médiatiques sont faibles ou se limitent aux émissions de divertissement ont un niveau de culture et de comportement politique inférieur à ceux qui suivent les programmes journalistiques ou lisent la presse écrite engagée.
