Pour comprendre comment Teilhard soustrait l’idée de survie à la banalité pour en faire ce qu’il appelle une « préférence interne » qui prend la forme du « goût de vivre », il faut s’arrêter sur certains défis qu’il propose de relever, principalement celui de correspondre aux exigences du super-vivre qui se conjuguent avec le fait d’être à la fois inquiet et en paix. Cela concorde mal avec des tactiques de survie qui mettent la mémoire au service de la méfiance. Ici comme toujours, mais plus que partout ailleurs peut-être, la part faite à l’intuition est décisive. C’est qu’il y va, ultimement, de la sérénité.
