Abstract
En 1995, le Comité consultatif d'accès à l'égalité dans les commissions scolaires, formé à la demande de la Centrale de l'enseignement du Québec (CEQ), amorçait ses travaux en matière d'accès à l'égalité. Conformément à la démarche préconisée dans le Règlement sur l'accès à l'égalité, la première tâche du Comité a été la mise au point d'un portrait de la situation du personnel féminin. Le Portrait statistique du personnel féminin des commissions scolaires permet d'illustrer de multiples facettes du travail des femmes pour l'année 1993-1994 dans le réseau de l'enseignement, un secteur d'emploi traditionnellement féminin marqué par la persistance de la sous-représentation des femmes parmi le personnel d'encadrement. Les enseignantes, les gestionnaires et les professionnelles y occupent plus d'emplois précaires et à temps partiel que leurs collègues masculins. Par ailleurs, le secteur anglophone se distingue du secteur francophone par une meilleure représentation des femmes parmi le personnel d'encadrement et le personnel professionnel.
