Abstract
Résumé Cet article s’intéresse à la génération montante et à son entrée imminente dans les organisations. Cette génération, que l’on désigne comme étant la génération Internet, est celle des jeunes nés entre 1977 et 1997. L’intérêt pour cette génération est lié, entre autres, au fait qu’elle est la plus populeuse du siècle qui vient de se terminer. Un autre trait distinctif associé à ces jeunes est l’omniprésence des médias numériques et interactifs dans leur vie. En effet, au même titre que la télévision a profondément marqué l’éducation des baby-boomers, Internet est rapidement devenu un outil essentiel du développement tant cognitif que social des jeunes de la génération montante. Dans cet esprit, nous tentons dans cet article de mieux comprendre qui sont ces jeunes et de démystifier l’influence que l’usage répandu des technologies de l’information exerce sur leurs valeurs, leurs attitudes, leurs aspirations et leurs comportements. Par la suite, nous soulevons un certain nombre d’implications liées à l’arrivée imminente de ces jeunes dans les organisations. Nous nous sommes en fait limité à préciser quelques-uns des principaux constituants du type d’environnement de travail privilégié par cette nouvelle cohorte d’employés.
