Abstract
Cet article s’intéresse au processus de transmission identitaire confronté à l’expérience de la mixité conjugale. Alors que la descendance des unions mixtes questionne les appartenances identitaires, comment s’orientent les choix de transmission effectués par les parents? À travers le cas des couples franco-maghrébins résidant en région parisienne, nous rendrons compte des différentes questions voire des tensions familiales que la filiation soulève. Les choix de transmission sont autant de négociations conjugales et familiales qui renvoient aux couples la situation « illégitime » dans laquelle ils se trouvent. Nous verrons en quoi nous pouvons parler d’« illégitimité » conjugale. Puis, seront explorés différents exemples qui laissent transparaître, de manière notable, la situation « illégitime » que connaît le couple lors des choix opérés.
