Abstract
Résumé L’article étudie la construction du caractère patrimonial de la ville par ses habitants à travers une opération discursive de qualification nommée « patrimonialité ». Celle-ci tient à la manière dont des éléments urbains acquièrent une qualité patrimoniale, reconnue et attribuée par les habitants. Elle participe à la compréhension des processus de patrimonialisation en milieu urbain. La dimension performative et pragmatique du patrimoine qui produit des interactions entre les acteurs et leur environnement rend nécessaire la recherche d’une grille d’analyse « sensible » pour analyser un patrimoine vécu, pratiqué et représenté. Il s’agit d’explorer la construction de sens par les habitants à propos de ce qu’ils considèrent comme leur patrimoine, à travers une analyse sémiotique qui permet de comprendre simultanément ce qui intervient dans la construction de la signification du rapport au patrimoine, à savoir le ressenti, les pratiques et les représentations.
