Abstract
For anyone interested in the historical aspects of labor-management relations in professional baseball, G. Richard McKelvey has provided us with a short but very readable treatment of the subject. The book is well researched and filled with lots of interesting quotes from the early days of baseball up until the modern era. The history of the relationship between baseball's owners and players is adequately covered as are the various lockout and strike situations that have occurred.
