Abstract
Les sports de rue demeurent trop souvent assimilés à des pratiques marginales et déviantes. Des enquêtes qualitatives et quantitatives, menées par nos soins auprès de skateurs et de basketteurs, insistent sur la diversité et l’ambiguïté des pratiques et des représentations développées dans ces activités auto-organisées dans la ville. À ce niveau, des ambivalences sont décelables par l’exploration des modes d’appropriation des lieux, des formes de sociabilité, des modalités de transmission et des rapports a la consommation. Celles-ci ne sont en fait que le reflet des sociétés sur-modernes, marquées par les rapports complexes entre lieux et non-lieux, entre groupe et individu, entre réel et virtuel, entre rébellion et consommation.
