Abstract
L’on examine tout d’abord les mérites de la « norm altèrnativ » récemment conçue, ès matières de simplification orthographique, par le Québécois M. Périard, de qui le site www.ortograf.net plaide légitimement en faveur d’une écriture de type « phonologique ». Pensant y retrouver quelque écho des préconisations de l’Observatoire francophone du français contemporain, l’on confronte ensuite ces notations avec celles que proposent parallèlement d’aucuns linguistes. Après quoi l’on en revient aux antiques Notions élémentaires de linguistique (1834) du bon Charles Nodier, pour se demander si la préservation (scripturale) de « l’étymologie » peut ou non contribuer, chez les « jeunes en difficulté », à une culture de la littératie dont tout tend par ailleurs à les spolier.
