Abstract
Si l’oeuvre d’Hergé parle de son temps, notamment des médias (presse écrite, cinéma, télévision), elle réfère également, quoique plus discrètement, aux arts plastiques (sculpture, peinture, art classique et art moderne). Si l’auteur des aventures de Tintin, de nos jours, commence à être considéré comme un artiste (Le Lotus bleu a fait l’objet d’une exposition au Centre Pompidou en 2005), il n’en fut pas toujours de même. À commencer par l’artiste lui-même qui considéra longtemps son travail comme un art mineur. Est-ce à dire que la façon dont Hergé aborde les tableaux fasse ici symptôme? Le sort réservé non seulement aux toiles mais aussi aux statues dans la saga contée apporte, peut-être, un élément de réponse.
