Abstract
Analyse des changements institutionnels qui ont marqué le développement de la sociologie: dissémination à l'extérieur des départements disciplinaires, institutionnalisation de la recherche, insertion dans les réseaux scientifiques internationaux, etc. Le mouvement de la grande recherche annonce une nouvelle hiérarchisation entre les institutions et entre leurs membres. Il se caractérise en outre par une intervention accrue des organismes gouvernementaux, au détriment des mécanismes internes de régulation, que l'hétérogénéité du milieu risque de perturber. La crise actuelle de la sociologie ne se situe pas seulement au plan des paradigmes: elle provient d'un changement de position de la discipline dans le système universitaire et sur le marché des emplois hautement qualifiés.
