Dans cet article, nous abordons les approches école-famille-communauté en tant qu’approches intégrées inscrites dans les nouvelles pratiques de la gestion publique et les nouveaux modes d’intervention qui les accompagnent. À partir d’une recherche exploratoire sur la mise en oeuvre d’une intervention qui lie la santé publique et l’éducation – l’approche École en santé –, nous cherchons à cerner les propriétés d’un métier en émergence, celui d’agent pivot. Plus avant, nous cherchons à dégager comment le déploiement local d’une approche intégrée ne saurait être compris comme le résultat des seuls gestes posés par un agent mobilisateur, mais de dynamiques pragmatiques dont le sens et les orientations sont éclairés par les situations des différents acteurs impliqués dans le processus.
