Abstract
Les activités de recherche menées auprès de travailleurs sociaux et de travailleuses sociales révèlent souvent la difficulté de dire la pratique sociale. Cette difficulté se manifeste lorsque l’on tente de théoriser cette pratique. En postulant le caractère théorique des discours des intervenants sur leur pratique, cet article explore les activités de catégorisation des praticiens, les définit comme théorie en actes, examine les conséquences épistémologiques sur les rapports entre la connaissance pratique et la connaissance théorique, et propose différentes pistes pour la poursuite de l’étude de la pragmatique de la théorie dans le domaine de l’intervention.
