Abstract
Une enquête menée auprès des firmes de sondage du Canada et portant sur les pratiques méthodologiques montre que plusieurs de celles-ci diffèrent selon les régions: mode de sélection des répondants, nombre de tentatives pour les joindre, récupération de refus, et pratiques visant à garantir un taux de réponse, entre autres. Les perceptions diffèrent également en ce qui concerne le taux de réponse jugé acceptable. Cette situation est attribuée aux caractéristiques historiques et économiques du développement de l'industrie du sondage dans les deux régions linguistiques.
