Les femmes lisent (61 %) et visitent les Salons du livre (65 %) plus que les hommes, alors que les pourcentages des femmes auteures varient entre 25 et 37 % seulement. Les quelques chiffres présentés dans cette recherche, relatifs à la place des femmes dans les maisons d'édition, les relations publiques, les librairies, les associations du livre, les critiques littéraires et parmi les récipiendaires de Prix, les membres des jurys littéraires, etc., éclairent bien la sousreprésentation des femmes et des ecrivaines dans le monde du livre et appellent à la fois une étude systématique du sujet et une recherche-action.
