Abstract
Le débat actuel sur la nation québécoise tend à évacuer la conception classique, selon laquelle la nation est une réalité, ni ethnique, ni civique, mais historique, à laquelle les descendants d'immigrants seraient destinés à s'identifier. Sous l'effet de l'idéologie interculturelle et l'influence du modèle juif, l'échec de la vieille nation québécoise à se perpétuer par l'assimilation est alors transmuée en victoire du nationalisme moderne. Diverses propositions de réécriture de l'histoire nationale témoignent de cette dérive. Basé sur une revue de plusieurs ouvrages récents, le texte s'en prend à ceux de Claude Bariteau et de Gérard Bouchard, ainsi qu'à l'idée de « nation politique » chez Charles Taylor.
