Abstract
Ce texte propose une lecture de l'oeuvre de Montesquieu à partir de débats récents sur le relativisme politique. La méthode d'ensemble qui se dégage de quelques grands thèmes des Lettres persanes et de L'Esprit des lois permet d'apercevoir le double enseignement de cette pensée: qu'elle est structurée à la fois par un horizon normatif d'universalité et par une conception plurielle du bien politique.
