Abstract
L'article montre que la position de Spinoza dans le Trait thologicopolitique s'enracine dans une tradition hermneutique marque par la Logique de J. Clauberg qui distingue entre le sens authentiquement vis par l'auteur (sensus genuinus), le sens vrai et la vrit. Cette distinction est reprise par L. Meyer, le mdecin ami de Spinoza dans l'Interpres, en rduisant le sens vrai la vrit comprise par la philosophie de Descartes ou Spinoza. Spinoza en revanche maintient la distinction entre vrit et sens vrai, en conservant l'criture sainte son caractre sacr ds lors qu'elle facilite la pratique de la justice et de la charit. La raison dgage les enseignements moraux universels de la Bible en favorisant une communaut dans la recherche du vrai. Ainsi peut-il soutenir un principe d'adaptation large du lecteur dans sa lecture de la Bible et dfendre une hermneutique tolrante et gnreuse sans jamais rien cder de la rigueur de l'interprtation.
