Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Abstract A new method for the induction of fuzzy decision trees is introduced. The fuzzy decision tree classifier improves prediction accuracy using smaller models by locating more robust splitting regions. The proposed method also provides a measure of confidence for sample classification by propagating partition memberships into all leaf nodes, thereby relaxing local subspace restrictions. The fuzzy decision tree algorithm is presented and compared against standard and bagged decision tree classifiers. Copyright © 2003 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
