Abstract
Alors que le populisme resurgit dans plusieurs pays d’Amérique latine, le Chili offre l’image d’une « transition réussie », non pas nécessairement vers la démocratie, mais vers un système politique stable. L’épilogue de l’affaire Pinochet vient confirmer le fait que la « justice de transition » perdure, ce qui veut dire à la fois maintien de l’impunité et échec de la réconciliation nationale. Cela n’empêche pas qu’une nouvelle langue politique se soit imposée. Celle-ci, articulée à un imaginaire antipopuliste, rend non énonçable tout discours de mobilisation collective. Cette langue politique postpopuliste s’est imposée avec l’acceptation du récit de l’impossible renversement de la dictature. Faute d’un discours de réconciliation réussi, les contraintes énonciatives de cette langue restent néanmoins extérieures. En même temps, l’affaire Pinochet a permis l’irruption publique de la souffrance des victimes de la violence d’État. Celle-ci devient alors un fait politique
