La notion de rapport salarial est centrale pour la compréhension des modèles de sociétés et d’entreprises. Elle comporte cependant des limites car elle est trop englobante. Il est suggéré dans un premier temps de distinguer, au sein de ce rapport, deux dimensions : l’organisation (division-coordination du travail) et l’institution (compromis social), puis de compléter l’approche de la régulation en ajoutant un rapport de consommation qui permet de saisir la relation entre les citoyens-usagers-consommateurs et les entreprises ou agences étatiques. Enfin, une réflexion sur le rapport entre structure et acteurs montre que les notions de reproduction et de régulation ne sauraient être confondues.
