Abstract
Résumé Suicides en milieu de travail : une affaire d’hommes… Parmi les 25 suicides d’employés de France Télécom, 24 sont le fait d’hommes. Le suicide des hommes est une véritable épidémie également répartie à l’échelle planétaire où l’on enregistre trois suicides d’homme pour un de femme. Elle touche prioritairement les territoires les plus instables ou déstabilisés. Régions déshéritées souvent éloignées. Les hommes sont aujourd’hui rendus vulnérables par un environnement qui leur échappe et qui altère leur image. En milieu de travail, ils sont les premières victimes de la nouvelle économie. Les hommes éprouvent face à la déstabilisation environnementale, sociale ou intime, un sentiment d’impuissance destructeur capable de provoquer chez eux un séisme fatal. Nous essaierons de comprendre pourquoi les femmes, qui occupent de plus en plus les postes exposés socialement, semblent, au prix de souffrances différentes, mieux résister à l’instabilité territoriale. Au-delà de la nécessaire complémentarité des sexes, nous profilerons en conclusion les manières de traiter et prévenir cette épidémie silencieuse.
