Abstract
As we shift away from traditional information exchange pathways, we enter avenues that are anything but predictable. These ‘channels’ do not provide the economic, cultural, or traditional reliability that we have come to expect, nor the certainty that what we are reading or viewing is trustworthy. We are willing to make this hell-bound exchange of trust for innovation because we value ourselves more than the information, perhaps to a greater extent than ever before. What we are neglecting are the communities that have until now made possible what we may see as quaint and largely useless. As national borders disappear, cultural barriers also more slowly dissolve, and everywhere becomes more and more like here. We seek ways to express and reserve our individuality. We are, after all, us, not them.
