Abstract
L’articolo tratta della migrazione come esperienza soggettiva. In una prospettiva che riecheggia la concettualizzazione di P. Jedlowski, l’intento è di analizzare come l’evento migratorio venga esperito e rielaborato dal soggetto migrante, e come l’esperienza e la relativa tematizzazione incidano sul suo percorso biografico. In particolare, mutuando dalla definizione di J. P. Raison, l’esperienza migratoria viene declinata come esperienza di una cesura spazio-temporale, con conseguenze di dislocazione spaziale e di frammentazione temporale che si traducono in una perdita del senso di dimora. Nella ricerca irrinunciabile di una nuova dimora, il migrante si orienta sulla base di un criterio soggettivo di rilevanza biografica, i cui esiti possono essere tipizzati come (a) resa alla non dimora ; (b) individuazione della dimora per eccellenza ; (c) coesistenza delle dimore. Il caso empirico di riferimento è quello di uomini, donne e bambini migrati nel corso degli anni cinquanta e sessanta del novecento dalla Calabria in Canada.
