Abstract
Résumé Deux allégations formulées à l'endroit du président iranien Mahmoud Ahmadinejad intensifient les pressions que les États-Unis et Israël font peser sur l'Iran : il est accusé de nier la Shoah et de menacer de génocide la population israélienne. Souvent, on présente l'Iran comme une nouvelle Allemagne nazie et le président Ahmadinejad comme un nouvel Hitler. Cet article retrace les origines de ces accusations en mettant en lumière le rôle que joue, dans la formation du discours occidental sur l'Iran, l'amalgame que d'aucuns pratiquent entre les juifs, d'une part, et l'État d'Israël, d'autre part. L'article met en garde contre les réactions épidermiques et fait ressortir la nécessité d'agir rationnellement, particulièrement lorsque les Occidentaux ont affaire à des dirigeants qu'ils jugent irrationnels.
