The concept of a relationship of myocardial lipid content with generalized adiposity and potentially with cardiac morphologic characteristics and function in obese patients is intriguing. We also agree that intramyocardial fat content detected by magnetic resonance spectroscopy could be a target for drugs that interact with the adipose tissue.
