Abstract
Civilisation; Sauvagerie Le Sauvage américain et l'idée de civilisation La rencontre entre l'Europe et l'Amérique a contribué à fonder une représentation univer-saliste et évolutionniste du Monde et des hommes, que nous définissons comme la Civilisation. Les Sauvages ont été alors considérés comme les survivants d'un monde archaïque appelé à évoluer vers l'état de civilisation. Et lorsque nous voulons expliquer pourquoi le Sauvage ne se " civilise " pas. nous lui attribuons une " paresse naturelle ". Apparaît alors l'importance du rôle d'une pensée économique, dans laquelle l'" homme civilisé " est également un " homme économique " acceptant de travailler.
