Abstract
Cet article cherche à montrer que le roman de Georges Forestier La Pointe-aux-rats, publié en 1907 à Paris par la maison d’édition Plon, est un roman qui mériterait une réédition, qu’elle soit critique ou non. Dans le contexte de la littérature franco-manitobaine, ce roman des origines raconte ce que fut la migration d’un groupe de Français, à la fin du xixe siècle, dans un Manitoba en plein changement. Ce livre, qui fut le premier roman publié en français sur le Manitoba, est un témoignage littéraire important de la colonisation de l’Ouest.
