Abstract
Les savoirs développés et transmis par des agriculteurs dans des contextes occidentaux modernes font très peu l'objet de recherches en sciences sociales. Or, les agriculteurs et agricultrices biologiques du Québec sont à la base d’une innovation intense et quotidienne source de savoirs locaux sur l’environnement et le vivant tout entier. Ils et elles font revivre des savoirs anciens, développent de nouveaux savoirs à la lumière des connaissances scientifiques, et élaborent leurs propres savoirs incorporés par la pratique, l'expérience, l'observation, et l'essai et l'erreur, savoirs qu'ils partagent ensuite avec d'autres. Cette génération et cet échange de savoirs locaux participent à la création d’un changement social visant un rapport considéré plus éthique et écologique à la nature. Ici, l’autorité épistémologique de la science (l’agronomie en particulier) est contestée en faveur d’une épistémologie éthique et holiste.
