Abstract
A 42-year-old woman was referred to our institution after blunt chest trauma. Thoracic computed tomography scan showed a transection of the right pulmonary artery with pseudo-aneurysm formation (Fig. 1 ). Considering associated cerebral, lumbar and digestive lesions and haemodynamic stability without haemothorax, surgical management was not decided. Thoracic CT scan performed at the acute phase showed a pseudo-aneurysm arising from the right pulmonary artery (arrows) with intimal flap into the arterial lumen (arrowheads). Spontaneous reduction in size of the pseudo-aneurysm was observed on the control CT scan performed 14 days later. (D) Transverse view. Considering the good clinical outcome of the patient, the spontaneous reduction in size of the pseudo-aneurysm and the major surgical risks, therapeutic abstention was decided. The patient was discharged at 1 month and managed in a physical therapy department (patient’s consent was obtained).
