Le projet minier Nunavik Nickel a nécessité la construction d’un pont-seuil à l’exutoire du lac du Bombardier au Nunavik, Québec, Canada. Ce pont-seuil devait permettre aux poissons de transiter entre la rivière de Puvirnituq et le lac. Ainsi, une passe migratoire favorisant le passage de l’omble chevalier (Salvelinus alpinus) et du touladi (Salvelinus namaycush) a été aménagée à même le pont-seuil. À la suite de l’aménagement réalisé en 2012, une inspection de la passe migratoire et un suivi de son efficacité ont été réalisés à l’aide du système automatisé IchtyoSTM. L’inspection a révélé que les critères de conception étaient respectés bien que de légers travaux correctifs aient dû être réalisés au printemps 2013 pour améliorer l’appel de la passe migratoire. De juillet à septembre 2012, IchtyoSTM a enregistré 166 évènements correspondant à des passages de poissons, soit 114 touladis, 45 ombles chevaliers et 7 spécimens non identifiés. Un pic de montaison est survenu à la troisième semaine d’août. Ce pic est corrélé avec une augmentation des niveaux d’eau dans le lac à partir de la mi-août. Les montaisons ont été dominées par le touladi en juillet et août, pour passer à une dominance d’omble chevalier en septembre. Les informations récoltées confirment l’efficacité de la passe migratoire du pont-seuil à l’égard du libre passage de l’omble chevalier et du touladi en montaison.
