Abstract
Les antidépresseurs sont parmi les médicaments les plus prescrits et consommés au Québec, au Canada et en Occident, non seulement pour les dépressions mais aussi pour des affections très variées. Ils sont devenus une « marchandise » très prisée dont la valeur d’usage, c’est-à-dire son utilité sociale, est la promesse du rétablissement de l’action de la personne déprimée. Dans cet article, il s’agira de considérer, du point de vue de l’utilisateur, les expériences complexes de la prise d’antidépresseur afin de saisir les tensions typiques qui les traversent, les caractéristiques générales qui les distinguent et les dimensions collectives qui les lient de manière spécifique en leur conférant une certaine unité.
