Abstract
Cet article rappelle que la médiatisation des people fut dès l’origine du cinéma hollywoodien une stratégie promotionnelle. L’auteure se base sur l’hypothèse que la médiatisation de personnalités célèbres en tant que people était (et est) considérée moins comme une vérité journalistique que comme le résultat d’un joyeux mélange entre divers types de récits populaires et d’astucieuses stratégies de branding, et qu’elle est appréciée précisément pour l’ambiguïté inhérente de ces histoires qui restent souvent à vérifier.
