Abstract
Résumé Partout dans le monde, le caractère cosmopolite et culturellement hétérogène de plusieurs métropoles s’est accentué ces dernières années, ce qui rend le travail des gestionnaires du marketing plus complexe. À partir d’une revue de la littérature dans les domaines de la consommation artistique et culturelle et dans celui du marketing ethnique, un cadre conceptuel pour segmenter le marché ethnique des arts et de la culture est élaboré et les étapes d’une méthodologie de recherche sont présentées. Une étude empirique menée auprès de sept importants groupes ethniques de la ville de Montréal a été réalisée pour valider le cadre théorique proposé. Trois segments ont été relevés : les «dévoués», les «pratiquants» et les «indifférents». Les profils sociodémographique, psychographique, situationnel et culturel de chaque segment ont par la suite été établis. Une discussion sur la contribution et les implications managériales qui en découlent termine l’article.
