Abstract
L’itinérance est un phénomène qui soulève beaucoup de questions en ce qui concerne l’intégration sociale. Trois traditions s’affrontent dans la réaction de la société face à l’itinérance : Faut-il contrôler, repousser ou punir l’itinérant? Faut-il en faire l’objet d’une charité sans attentes? Faut-il plutôt l’aider à changer et à devenir davantage acceptable, désirable en quelque sorte, pour la société? L’étude des dimensions relationnelles de l’itinérance permet de mieux comprendre les difficultés rencontrées dans la pratique d’intervention et contribue à mieux adapter la relation d’aide à la clientèle des itinérants.
