Abstract
Cet article étudie l’évolution de la langue dans La Grande Tribu, le maître ouvrage de l’écrivain québécois Victor-Lévy Beaulieu. Les états génétiques successifs de l’œuvre révèlent une radicalisation de l’expérimentation langagière qui vise non seulement à « enquébécoiser » la langue française, c’est-à-dire à la « dégrader » pour la forger à son image, mais aussi à surpasser cette situation linguistique associée à l’aliénation de la nation canadienne-française par la création d’une langue nouvelle.
