Abstract
L'auteur examine la dimension relative du budget du gouvernement québécois consacré au secteur agricole ainsi que la ventilation régionale de L’output du Ministère de l'agriculture. Il ressort, entre autres, que les différents programmes agricoles n'ont pas une portée uniforme : ceux mettant en œuvre de gros projets et impliquant une lourde machine administrative profitent surtout aux comtés prospères de la région de Montréal, alors que les petites subventions spéciales et les mesures temporaires avantagent surtout les régions pauvres de la périphérie. L'auteur traite également de la signification de la Révolution tranquille au plan de la politique agricole. Contrairement à ce que l'on aurait pu penser, le budget alloué à l'agriculture n'a à peu près pas diminué et les changements survenus ont plutôt avantagé les régions périphériques les plus pauvres.
