Abstract
Résumé «Le leader doit faire preuve de courage !» Cette expression se pose comme une évidence si on conçoit le leadership comme une double compétence de prédilection pour faire face aux difficultés et aux risques. Malgré le flou qui entoure ces deux compétences, il semble exister une grande proximité entre elles. Cet article présente, d’une part, les liens faits dans la littérature entre ces deux compétences et, d’autre part, les résultats d’une recherche portant sur la conception du courage de diriger en contexte de fusion, selon cinq hauts gestionnaires ayant agi comme leaders du projet. Ces résultats montrent que le courage de diriger est un concept lié au leadership, à la confiance et à des intérêts. Les applications dans la gestion des compétences sont également abordées.
