<titre>R&#201;SUM&#201;</titre> Dans un d&#233;partement d&#8217;une usine qui fabrique les pi&#232;ces centrales d&#8217;un moteur de v&#233;hicule de transport public, des machinistes doivent travailler avec des machines qui sont issues de diff&#233;rentes g&#233;n&#233;rations technologiques. Ces machines, qui sont r&#233;guli&#232;rement modifi&#233;es, mobilisent des comp&#233;tences diverses chez les machinistes (par exemple&#160;: savoir-faire, dipl&#244;me, formation). Depuis quelques ann&#233;es, suite &#224; des transformations importantes, une appellation uniforme des machinistes sous le titre &#8220; op&#233;rateur multimachines &#8221; a &#233;t&#233; introduite et a entra&#238;n&#233; la polyvalence des travailleurs d&#8217;une machine &#224; l&#8217;autre. Une enqu&#234;te en psychodynamique du travail, men&#233;e aupr&#232;s des machinistes, a permis de comprendre comment le contexte de travail, orient&#233; principalement sur les transformations technologiques, a cr&#233;&#233; une contrainte importante au niveau psychique et entrav&#233; les rapports sociaux. Une analyse de contenu r&#233;alis&#233;e sur le mat&#233;riel de l&#8217;enqu&#234;te (verbatim et enregistrement audio des entretiens collectifs) permet de mettre en lumi&#232;re les effets n&#233;fastes des transformations technologiques sur les travailleurs. Un des impacts majeurs de ces tranformations correspond &#224; la destruction de l&#8217;identit&#233; de m&#233;tier. La situation entra&#238;ne entre autres des r&#233;actions tels l&#8217;individualisme et un sentiment de d&#233;qualification chez les machinistes.
