Abstract
La carbamazepine (CBZ) est un anticonvulsivant souvent utilise dans le traitement de l’epilepsie ainsi que pour plusieurs autres problemes de sante. Recemment, la FDA (US Food and Drug Administration) ainsi que Sante Canada ont emis un avis mentionnant qu’il y a un risque accru de reactions cutanees graves, comprenant le syndrome de Stevens-Johnson (SSJ) et la necrolyse epidermique toxique (NET), lorsque la CBZ est utilisee chez les personnes d’origine asiatique, particulierement chez les descendants Chinois Hans1,2. La presence de l’allele HLA-B*1502 («human leucocyte antigen» B*-1502) chez cette population a ete fortement associee au risque de developper ce type de reaction. Le cas presente ici est celui d’une femme d’origine cambodgienne ayant developpe une NET induite par la CBZ.
